Development in personal social services

Children in Need
Statistical developments in the area of the social care of children who are not looked after or who are not on child protection registers. DfES is now responsible for Children in Need.
Referrals, Assessments and Packages of Care project (RAP)
The Referrals, Assessments and Packages of Care Project (RAP) was developed to provide a coherent set of national statistics on adult community care. RAP was first rolled out in England 1 April 2000 to 31 March 2001. This section provides newsletters, publications, evaluations and other documentation on RAP.

Guidance on on-line data submissions for information managers in local authorities, NHS trusts, care trusts and primary care trusts in England.
Working groups and committees
The technical working group on personal social services statistics is linked to Central - Local Government Information Partnership (CLIP) (formerly IDLG), with which it exchanges information. It keeps under review and makes recommendations to DH on the central collection of data on personal social services (PSS) having regard to government policy objectives, monitoring of implementation and the costs and benefits of the information.
