The Clinical Excellence Awards Scheme recognises and rewards NHS consultants and academic GPs who perform over and above the standard expected of their role. It is managed and overseen by the Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards (ACCEA). National level clinical excellence awards reward NHS consultants for their contribution at a national level.
National level clinical excellence awards receive funding from ACCEA centrally. National awards are available in the following levels:
Bronze (This is the same amount as a Local 9 EBA award)
Silver
Gold
Platinum
Note: As a Local 9 EBA is the same amount as a National Bronze award, should an applicant hold a Local 9 EBA, the next level they can apply for would be a Silver National Award.
If you are going to apply for a National Level Award, please refer to the ‘2011 awards round’ page, which displays information and guidance about the National Awards aspect of the scheme.
This page displays the award results for the last four rounds. Results from previous rounds can be found on the 'Archived documents' page. Please note that the successful candidates on the list below will appear on the Nominal Roll shortly.

The Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards is committed to making the Clinical Excellence Awards Scheme open and transparent. To achieve this, the Personal Statements of those consultants who were awarded Clinical Excellence Awards in the 2011 Awards Round have now been published. The Committee hope that the publication of these statements reflects well on the process of operating the Scheme, and will be of help to applicants in the future.
The personal statements for 2011 are available in .pdf (Portable Document Format)
To find a particular statement in a .pdf file, select the Search icon (or Ctr+F) and enter a consultant surname or GMC number.
