Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Services Review Group

The tragic failures of children’s heart surgery in Bristol and inquiries into services at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trusts signalled the need for a fundamental review of how the NHS cares for children. As part of this, the Government set up a Review Group in January 2001 to make recommendations for the safe organisation of the paediatric and congenital cardiac service. The Group reported in December 2003.
