Key Stakeholder Group (KSG)

  • Last modified date:
    30 July 2008

In April 2006 Ministers established an Implementation Review Group (IRG) to monitor the impact of the NHS dental reforms. The group is chaired by the Chief Dental Officer, and consists of senior stakeholders and includes representatives from the NHS, the dental profession, and patient groups.

At the October 2007 meeting the Minister proposed and the group agreed to reform as a standing key stakeholder group (KSG). The group, sponsored as before by the Minister with responsibility for dental services, agreed to continue to identify, discuss, and provide advice to the Department on issues relating to the development of dental services and the consolidation of the system of local commissioning introduced in 2006.

The KSG meets quarterly and provides a forum for stakeholders to identify and discuss and advise on key issues arising from the provision of NHS primary care dental services from the patient, commissioner and provider perspective.
