Estate not controlled by the Department of Health

Some Department of Health staff work in buildings either leased or shared with other Agencies or Departments. Therefore we do not have direct control over the management of these buildings. Nevertheless, the Department of Health is committed to ensuring the staff occupying any such buildings are aware of its policies on sustainable development. We would also, where possible, work towards influencing the landlords to take account of sustainable development impacts.

Hannibal House - The Department occupies the tower (12 floors) over the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre complex. The building is landlord-controlled and the Department has only partial control of the utilities. The Department will report on this building wherever possible.

Market Towers - Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) (an agency of the Department of Health) occupies the majority of this 21 floor tower block. The building is landlord-controlled and the Department has only partial control over the utilities. The Department will report on this building wherever possible.

New King's Beam House- The Department currently occupies four floors of this 11 storey building. The major occupier is Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC). DH receive services from the building's owners paid for as part of a facility charge.

Quarry House - The Department has 1200 staff at Quarry House. The major occupier is Department for Works and Pensions (DWP). DH receive services from the buildings owners paid for as part of a facility charge.
