Professor Sir George Alberti is responsible for giving advice to NHS organisations on emergency care and service design with the main emphasis on clinical quality and safety and clear patient pathways.
Sir George was President of the Royal College of Physicians London. He was co-chairman of the first of the new National Service Frameworks on coronary heart disease. He works extensively with both the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organisation. He was President of the IDF from 2000-2003.
He is Senior Research Fellow at St Mary’s Campus of Imperial College working with the diabetes and metabolism group, and Emeritus Professor of Medicine at Newcastle University.
