On 15 June 2007, the World Health Organization’s International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005 will come into force, replacing the IHR 1969. One of the consequences of this is that ship sanitation certificates will replace deratting certificates as internationally recognised documents. Accordingly, this consultation paper sets out, and invites comments on, the UK Government’s proposals for implementing the provisions of the IHR 2005 on ship sanitation certificates  in England.
