This consultation calls for comment on a draft Code of Practice which sets out the requirements that counter fraud or security management specialists will need to follow when obtaining, handling, using and disclosing information under the Health Act 2006 powers in England and Wales.

The Health Act 2006 provides powers for the compulsory production of documents for the prevention, detection and investigation of fraud in the NHS in England and Wales and also security incidents and breaches against the NHS in England

This consultation also calls for comment from Welsh consultees on a draft Code of Practice prepared by the Welsh Ministers in relation to the use of these powers to counter fraud in the NHS in Wales. Welsh translations of the consultation document and the Code of Practice can be found at
