This consultation sets out options for a new careers framework for post registration nursing. It fulfills a commitment in Modernising Nursing Careers setting the direction (2006) to align nursing careers with the NHS Careers Framework and develop new career paths for nursing. It proposes a framework built around patient care pathways and seeks responses from as many people as possible before any futher work is done. We would also like to hear of any alternative approaches.
