The Department plans to make major changes to the way that health and adult social care is regulated, and performance managed, from a currently planned date of April 2009. This consultation document contains the proposed changes to the regulations governing the independent healthcare, and contains the proposed changes to the regulations governing the independent healthcare sector, and proposed changes to the associated National Minimum Standards (NMS).
Consultation on the Medical Profession (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2008
Closing date: 5 June 2008
The consultation paper asks for comments on a draft order. The changes proposed in the draft order would implement two of the reforms set out in the White Paper: Trust Assurance and Safety. The draft order also provides an additional route to the Specialist Register for NHS consultants. All amendments relate to the functions of the General Medical Council.
