Consultation on the introduction of picture warnings on tobacco packs: report on consultation

A report on the consultation on the introduction of picture warnings on tobacco packs, which was launched on 27 May 2006.

The consultation proposed the introduction of picture warnings on all tobacco packs that are subject to the current written warnings. Views were invited on:

• general opinions of the European Commission library of picture warnings;
• specifically, which warnings will have the most impact;
• which products will be affected;
• the rotation of warnings;
• whether there is a need to increase the size of the warnings;
• timescales for introducing the warnings; and
• enforcement arrangements.
