Description - National Statistics. A series of general population surveys about the health of people in England. The Health Survey started in 1991 and the information is used to underpin and improve targeting of nation-wide health policies. A unique feature of the Health Survey is that it combines questionnaire answers with physical measurements such as analysis of blood samples, ECG readings and lung function tests.
Availability - Annually in winter.
Cost - Main reports are priced publications available through The Stationery Office. Booklet summarising key results is free of charge. Text of reports and trend tables available free on DH web site.
