Ambulance capital incentive scheme

  • Last modified date:
    8 February 2007

In January 2004 a capital incentive scheme for ambulance trusts was launched. The scheme rewards ambulance trusts who make progress on achieving and maintaining the 75% Category A standard.

Payment will only commence when trusts achieve the Category A standard for three consecutive months after 31 March 2004. Once the initial three month threshold has been triggered, further payments will be awarded for each remaining month during 2004 where the Category A standard is reached.

Trusts and SHAs can find further details about the scheme on the STEIS website.

Category A standard: presenting conditions which may be immediately life threatening (category A calls) should be responded to within 8 minutes irrespective of location in 75% of cases.
