During the passage of the legislation through parliament, many people rang us with questions about how the reimbursement scheme would operate. Many of these questions had a very practical focus. Attached to this page is a set of frequently asked questions and responses compiled by the reimbursement implementation team alongside Department of Health officials.
Further issues were raised at the series of national roadshows held during the shadow period of reimbursement's operation between October 03 and January 04. These discussions often reflected how organisations had moved on from thinking about the immediate pracical implications of the policy such as details of notification forms, to the broader questions of whole systems investment, relationships with patient confidentiality and the interaction of reimbursement with patient choice. A note responding to the major concerns raised at these roadshows is attached below.
