Information is required by DH on PCT expenditure for hospice/specialist palliative care services for the year 2006/07 to identify the range of expenditure across PCTs. The information would be published alongside the End of Life Care Strategy. PCTs are required to complete and return the questionnaire by by 7 March 2008.
Ministers have decided to publish the national strategy in parallel with Lord Darzi’s NHS Next Stage Review final report scheduled for June 2008.

This document is designed to help care homes learn from each other’s practice to improve end of life care.
PCTs are required to undertake a baseline review of end of life care services in preparation for the End of Life Care Strategy.
