Information about the Implementation Group
The NSF External Reference Group (ERG) was established to provide confidential advice to Ministers on the National Service Framework for Long-term Conditions. The ERG set up a number of sub-groups, including some of their own members and other experts to work on specific projects. The Implementation Group was one of these sub-groups. The Implementation Group met between November 2003 and October 2004 and had its own terms of reference.
Terms of reference
(i) To act as a steering group for the production of confidential advice on implementation to ministers, the ERG or officials (as appropriate), including advice on how the Healthcare Commission, the Commission for Social Care Inspection and the Audit Commission could use the NSF Quality Requirements in their work.
(ii) To identify strategies to bring about successful implementation. This could include suggestions about facilitating implementation through other parallel initiatives, for example.
(iii) To identify specific tools to be included in the guidance material that will accompany the publication of the NSF.
(iv) To draft a work programme to cover producing the guidance. This should identify individual responsibilities and highlight the need for any additional support/expertise.
