Rakehead Rehabilitation Centre, Burnley

  • Last modified date:
    25 June 2008

The Rakehead Rehabilitation Centre is an accredited practice development unit which delivers comprehensive rehabilitation.

It has developed a number of policies and procedures including tape-recorded handovers, (from staff finishing one shift to staff starting the next shift), and how to give medication to patients who refuse to take it. Tape-recorded handovers assist in providing necessary information for staff starting at various times for the day. The handovers include a checklist that staff should refer to, which is positioned next to the tape recorder. The service has also produced a document, Patient Journey through Rehabilitation, which they are willing to share.
