The National Health Service(Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 2005 contain regulations for primary care trusts to manage fitness to practise requirements in respect of either applicants to be admitted to pharmaceutical lists or existing chemists on these lists. They also provide a framework within which primary care trusts can take action if a chemist's professional conduct, competence or performance gives cause for concern.
