The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and DH are jointly responsible for promoting the health and wellbeing of all children and young people. A new Child and Health Wellbeing Board has been set up to oversee delivery of the PSA ‘to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people’ and the National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity. This Board is jointly chaired by DH and DCSF and is made up of Government and external representatives such Chief Executives of Primary Care Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities and Directors of Children’s Services. The Board will report at ministerial level.
World class commissioning (WCC) sets out a new approach to commissioning for health and care services. It underpins delivery for many of the objectives of health policy and will bring about improvements in health & well-being.
