Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR)

  • Last modified date:

The NSF recommends that kidney function should be assessed and monitored using an eGFR, rather than serum creatinine concentration alone, in people identified as having an increased risk of chronic kidney disease. Links are given below to the information sheets on eGFR produced for general practitioners and for laboratories, and a leaflet of Frequently Asked Questions.

The documents can be downloaded, or hard copies can be ordered from the DH Publications orderline by emailing dh@prolog.uk.com; phoning 08701 555 455; faxing 01623 724 524 or textphoning 08700 102 870 from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, and quoting the relevant title.
