The structure of the scheme

The Standard for the scheme defines the information production system an organisation uses to produce information and establishes what an organisation will have to demonstrate that they do to join the scheme.
Support will be offered to information producers to help them understand the Standard and meet the requirements of the scheme. This support is being scoped now, and the form it takes will be determined through the summer. As an intelligent client, UKAS will provide expert advice on accreditation and certification issues.
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
