Providing support for information producers

  • Last modified date:

We understand that the information accreditation scheme is new, and that there will be a large number of organisations that are interested in joining the scheme that may need support to improve their information production processes in line with the requirements of the Standard.

We have been working with information producers to better understand their support needs to improve their information production processes so that they can meet the Standard and join the scheme.  We have met with a wide range of different types of information producers including public sector organisations, large national charities, commercial companies and smaller, local voluntary organisations.

Support that information producers say is useful

When asked what support options might assist with accreditation:

  • 82 % surveyed said practical support with the accreditation process
  • 41% surveyed said advice on ensuring a valid evidence base
  • 81% said having a named contact at the accreditation body
  • 70% said  workshops on the standards and accreditation process
  • 68% said getting help with navigating their way through the accreditation process
  • 59% said networking with others going through the process
  • 58% said access to an information ‘expert’ to help with the requirements in the standards.
