Organ Donation Taskforce Programme Delivery Board

The Delivery Board's purpose is to drive delivery of the Organ Donation Taskforce recommendations that aim to increase organ donation by 50 per cent in five years.

Terms of reference and membership

The Board's terms of reference are:

  1. To bring together representatives of all stakeholders involved in implementation of the ODTF recommendations.
  2. To ensure that all stakeholders work within an integrated project plan.
  3. To ensure that responsibilities for implementation are clearly defined and recognised by the organisation/s with primary responsibility.
  4. To agree appropriate objectives and timescales with all stakeholders and ensure that appropriate metrics are identified to measure progress.
  5. To review all stakeholder’s action plans to ensure that a consistent approach is taken and, where necessary, that joint plans are developed where several stakeholders are involved in a single recommendation.
  6. To encourage a UK-wide approach to implementation whilst recognising the differing systems and structures within the devolved administrations.
  7. To receive quarterly reports from all stakeholders, and to monitor progress against agreed objectives.
  8. To work with individual stakeholders, or groups, to resolve difficulties and obstacles.
  9. To develop risk and critical-path analyses end ensure that mitigating action plans are in place.

The membership of the Programme Delivery Board comprises of representatives from the Organ Donation Taskforce, all four Health Departments and organisations that have a key role in implementing the recommendations.

This document provides a summary of all the projects relating to the Programme Delivery Board and includes:

  • projects based on recommendations by the Taskforce and
  • additional projects the Board feels are vital to ensure meeting the overall aim of increasing organ donation by 50% over 5 years.
