'The Finance function has a crucial role to play in leading change in the NHS. It can only do this from a position of planned and proven professional competence. The NHS Finance Function, as a professional community, must therefore ensure that it is focused and energetic in its approach to lifelong learning. By working with all our learning partners, both within the organisation and beyond, the finance function can maintain both its high professional standards and significant public sector commitment. This will enable the function to meet the increasing expectations and standards of both the NHS and the world wide accountancy profession.' Anne-Marie Millar, Deputy Finance Director, DH
The Finance Staff Development network spans all 28 SHA's, headed by a national team, with regional co-ordinators and a designated Finance Staff Development Lead in every NHS Organisation. The purpose of this network is to deliver and manage training and development for all finance staff, from the most junior to Finance Director level.
