NHS appraisal toolkit for consultants, GPs and SAS grade doctors

On-line appraisal toolkits are available for use by GPs, consultants and staff and associate specialist grade doctors in the NHS.

The toolkits can be found at www.appraisals.nhs.uk (see link below).

The GP toolkit is based on the principle that a single portal should be available to appraising and appraisee GPs in the NHS. This resource brings together advice, guidance, best practice, practical tools and access to a community of peers in the appraisal domain. The content should be validated and kept up to date, and supported by links to ‘face to face’ forums and communities.

The appraisal toolkit for NHS consultants is designed to assist consultants in their preparation of pre-appraisal documentation (DH forms 1, 2 and 3), post-appraisal documentation (DH forms 4, 5 and 6) and in doing so allows documents to be shared between appraisee and appraiser once the forms have been signed off.
