Local Information Plans
As part of the Information for Health programme, councils with social care responsibilities were required to produce a Local Information Plan (LIP) for 2001-5. The plans identify ways to improve the security, usability and performance of councils' social care information systems.

Following on from comments received at some of the regionally based workshops and feedback from the ADSS/IMG on developing Local Information Plans, and discussions on LIP strategy within the IfSC Project Team, we thought it might be helpful for councils to have a self-assessment model to help them gauge progress with development and completeness of their plans.
