Following on from the road-testing exercise with the NHS, the Payment by Results (PbR) package for 2008/09 is now confirmed.
This package is released alongside the NHS Operating Framework which together provides the tools required to operate (PbR) in 2008/09. This release concludes a managed programme of work with a wide range of stakeholders who have been involved throughout the development of the national tariff for 2008/09.

Code of conduct
This year, with effect from 1 April 2008, we are introducing a revised Code of Conduct for Payment by Results. The original Code has been reviewed to ensure that it is compatible with the 2008/09 tariff guidance, the national contract and with commissioning guidance.
The details of the opening MFF adjustments for 2008/09 have been communicated to NHS finance networks.
