Design Review Panel

  • Last modified date:

The Design Review Panel (DRP) implements a Department of Health requirement for all capital schemes over £25m to be reviewed by a Panel led by NHS Estates in partnership with CABE and the Prince's Foundation.

It provides an initial Design Workshop to help trusts with setting their design objectives, followed by reviews of the emerging Public Sector Comparator scheme design and thereafter reviews of short listed bidders' responses to the trust's Invitation To Negotiate prior to selection of preferred bidder. The Panel also reviews major capital schemes that use procurement routes other than PFI. The Panel's findings are reported to the trust. The Panel does not approve design proposals on behalf of the Department.
