BREEAM Healthcare - Building Research Establishment's Environmental Assessment Method
BREEAM Healthcare for New Builds/Refurbishments was launched on 1 July 2008. This updated tool replaces NEAT (NHS Environmental Assessment Tool) and is an accredited process.
The criteria for capital development schemes remains the same:
New Builds = Excellent;
Refurbishments = Very Good
BREEAM Healthcare for Existing Buildings is a self-assessment process. Trusts who wish to announce successful achievement may seek to undertake the Certification process. Use of this tool will be on a Membership basis.
