Accreditation - guidance and contact points for the 3 courses available

In 2001 NHS Estates distributed a letter and information pack entitled 'Accreditation of NHS Project Directors - Diploma in Project Leadership' to all NHS Trusts, Health Authorities and Regional Offices notifying them of the first course established at Lancaster University. This is reproduced below.

From September 2002 two additional providers have been offering Project Directors courses: South Bank University (London) and Portsmouth University. The format, curriculum and general content of these new courses will be the same as that from Lancaster but give those Trust Project Directors based in the South East and South West greater opportunities and easier travel.

Enrolment is currently underway on all three courses. The relevant contact points are:

The Department of Health is in the process of setting up a Public Sector Register of Projector Directors, which the NHS will support with the establishment of its own Accreditation Panel. Award of the Diploma will support an application for accreditation as an NHS Project Director and inclusion on the Public Sector Register for Project Directors. The Register will be available to view on line in the near future.
