2. Feedback on Health Impact Assessment Gateway (hiagateway) website (Gateway reference number: 7010)

As part of the public health Information and Intelligence Strategy, Informing Healthier Choices, the Department of Health is now consulting users on their needs for resources available on the hiagateway website. The website was part of the NICE website but is not now being actively maintained. Your views on its future are requested by 8 September 2006. See:

3. Payment by Results in 2007/08 (Gateway reference number: 7025)

Sir Ian Carruthers issued a letter to the NHS on 18 July headed Independent Review of the Tariff Setting Process in 2006/07. Colleagues should be aware that the letter also included information on proposals for the national tariff in 2007/08. See:

4. ProCure21: Community Hospitals (Gateway reference number: 7007)

The Department of Health has announced a further £750m in extra funding for the development of community hospitals.

5. Making the shift of hospital care into the community (Gateway reference numbers: 6881 and 6882)

The University of Birmingham’s Health Services Management Centre, commissioned by the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement’s Long Term Conditions programme, have produced two documents examining how the NHS is making the shift of hospital care into the community. The first paper is a literature review and the second paper examines key success factors.
