1. Productivity Metrics Distribution (Gateway reference number: 7087) The Productivity Metrics will be published by the NHS Institute this month and will be emailed direct to all PCTs, Acute and Foundation Trust Chief Executive Officers. As this will be the first set of Productivity Metrics to be available in the public domain, it will be important for organisations to have immediate access. Please confirm by 15 September if you wish the Productivity Metrics to be emailed direct to one other individual in your organisation, in addition to the CEO. Replies should be sent to:

2. Continuing Care - Consultation on Transitional Arrangements (Gateway reference number: 7076) We have recently launched a short consultation period on draft directions and guidance in relation to the transitional arrangements for local Continuing Care policy, for the interim period from NHS reorganisation until implementation of the proposed National Framework. 4. Modernising Nursing Careers: Setting the Direction (Gateway reference number: 6950) Patricia Hewitt launched this initiative at the Chief Nursing Officers Business Meeting on 4 September. It is a UK wide programme aimed at getting nursing ready for the future, and sets out a series of priorities and major actions that will be progressed over the coming months. See:
