The Statement of Financial Entitlements (Amendment) (No.3) Directions 2010 was signed on 21st September and for the most part is effective from 1st October. The primary purpose of the amendment is to introduce new dispensing feescales at Parts 2 and Part 3 of Annex G to the SFE. The fees at Part 2 relate to dispensing doctors and the fees at part 3 relate to non-dispensing doctors. The new fees have been discussed and agreed with the General Medical Practitioners’ Committee of the British Medical Association and NHS Prescriptions have been provided with the new feescales.
Direction 3 corrects a minor error in the existing SFE. The fee in paragraph 7JA.25 (Learning Disabilities Health Checks) of £50.87 should have been increased to £51.08 with effect from 1st April 2010. The only contractors that this effects are those who:
- undertake the LD DES;
- have been part of a practice merger since 1st April 2010, and
- who had not, when the merger took place, previously agreed a health check learning disabilities register in respect of all the patients of the new practice.
There should be very few such practices and PCTs should be able to readily identify relevant practices that have merged in the last 6 months and should discuss with them the payment of any monies underpaid.
