This Advance Letter authorises a change in the terms and conditions of service of Consultants in Dental Public Health employed by health authorities or NHS Trusts introduces criteria for the application of discretionary point to salaried general dental practitioners employed by health authorities...explains the introduction from 13 November 2000 of a new requirement for general dental practitioners, including salaried dentists in health authority employment and dentists involved in the Emergency Dental Service, to carry out Point of Treatment checks on patients who claim that they do not have to pay dental charges. These changes follow discussions with representatives of the profession.
