This letter authorises changes with effect from 1 April 2000 in the national pay and conditions of service of hospital medical and dental staff and doctors in public health medicine and the community health service. Employers will recall adverse publicity caused by delays in getting the 1999 awards into payments. Please aim to implement the new awards as soon as possible. The pay increase is 3.3% and will be paid in full as from 1 April 2000.
