Announces that Denise Platt will be stepping down from the post of Chief Inspector of the Social Services Inspectorate (SSI) at the end of June 2003. From the 1st July she will take up the post of Chair (Shadow) of the Commission for Social Care Inspection and will be working with the Implementation Team to create the new Commission. Averil Nottage, currently Deputy Chief Inspector of the Social Services Inspectorate will be Acting Chief Inspector of the SSI from 1st July until SSI formally becomes part of the new Commission.
