The Chief Inspector's Annual Report describes the work of the Social Services Inspectorate and developments in the field of the personal social services. It provides a commentary on the quality of services experienced by the people who use them and their carers. It is based on evidence gathered by the Social Services Inspectorate over 2000/01, including findings from the inspection programme, information from in-year assessment of performance, and the Annual Review meetings of local councils.
