This letter encloses 20 copies of the 2003 guide to the Social Services Inspectorate (SSI). The way the SSI works has changed significantly. As well as reorganising its structure, the SSI has published social care star ratings, contributed to comprehensive performance assessments and taken part in discussions about corporate priorities. This guide also explains how the move of SSI functions to the Commission for Social Care Inspection will impact on the way the Inspectorate works.
