This encloses copies of the Children Act Report 2000 which was presented to Parliament and published on 17th July 2001. As the Introduction to the Report makes clear it fulfils three main purposes by: providing the information to Parliament required by Section 83 of the Children Act 1989; describing the main changes to the context of children's social care that have occurred since the Children Act Report 1995-99 was published in December 1999; tracking progress through a number of initiatives - notably the Quality Protects programme - against the Governments Objectives for Children's Social Services.
