This letter informs chairs and chief executives of health authorities, trusts and arm's length bodies about:
- the 2007/8 pay uplift for executive staff covered by the pay framework for very senior managers in strategic health authorities, special health authorities, primary care trusts, and ambulance trusts. Very senior managers (VSMs) covered by that framework are chief executives, executive directors, and other board level managers who answer directly to the chief executive, within those organisations
- proposals to bring VSM pay within the remit of the Senior Salaries Review Body.
