Following consultation with the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, it was agreed that members of the Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Scheme (PPRS) would be invited to supply additional information on the sales of branded medicines under the 2005 PPRS, i.e., on a voluntary basis.  Those scheme members that are not prepared to agree to supply the information voluntarily will be subject to Regulations requiring the supply of more detailed information on the sales of their branded medicines.

Companies will be required to submit information within one calendar month of each quarter.  The first supply of information will be in respect of the quarter ending 31 March 2007.

All scheme members are invited to sign a letter of consent agreeing to supply the additional information on voluntary basis.  This new letter of consent replaces the letter by which companies consented in November 2004 to comply with the 2005 PPRS.
