NHS pricing transparency: Do you know how much you are paying for clinical goods?

This letter from Jim Easton provides examples of variance of prices paid for products and is inviting NHS trusts to consider joining a benchmarking club, to find out what prices are being paid elsewhere in the NHS.

Being transparent about what we pay is an important first step to making savings across the service. A new procurement diagnostic tool is also available.  It allows you to immediately identify procurement strengths and weaknesses, and explains how to improve procurement to make savings. The diagnostic was produced in collaboration with the Foundation Trust Network.
