Department of Health (DH) and Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) Permanent Secretaries have sent a letter to Government Office Regional Directors and Strategic Health Authority Chief Executives. It describes the new national framework for the DH's regional presence. It asks them to work together to agree how to support delivery of the key national public health priorities, and develop a memorandum of understanding and annual agreement for the remainder of 2006/07. It also describes the next steps in the DH's review of its regional presence, and seeks their help in developing a framework for the work of the DH's enhanced regional presence in 2007/8. The letter builds on the CMO's letter of March 29th 2006. Further information is also provided on Health and well-being PSAs and Health and well-being priorities for 2006/2007.
