David Behan, Director General for Social Care, has written to all Local Authority Chief Executives requesting they engage in partnership working with local NHS organisations undergoing workforce change. A new Framework has been launched to support NHS organisations restructuring their workforce. The Framework recommends health and social care employers work together to maximise employment opportunities for staff.

NHSE Employers framework

To support NHS organisations undergoing a period of workforce change, a new Framework has been produced by NHS Employers.

Launched jointly with the Department of Health on 30 October 2006, the Framework is a collection of advice and good practice to encourage NHS organisations to maximise employment opportunities for staff, particularly those displaced or at risk of redundancy. A key theme of the Framework is close partnership working between the health and social care sectors.
