A number of incidents have occurred where live components within in-line cable connectors on wet and dry floor polishing equipment were found to have suffered arcing and heat damage. The use of In-line flexible cable connectors in wet conditions should be avoided where possible. Any used should be rated at the IP65 standard for protection against ingress of fluid and the flexible cable protected by a residual current protection (RCD).
