The HSE (Health and Safety Executive) has advised NHS Estates that a high number of incidents have occurred on equipment without flame supervision devices. Such equipment should be upgraded with manufacturer's kits where practicable or replaced, irrespective of whether the user has safe lighting procedures, thus necessitating remedial action.
