NHS Estates has been advised of a mental health patient removing a length of PVC dustcover (Silent Gliss, part no 6110) approximately 2m long from the top of the Cubicle rail tracking. The patient was found playing with the 2m long PVC dustcover. This would have provided the mental patient with an ideal ligature garrotte. Identify with clinical staff, cubicle rail tracking in potential patient suicide risk areas with PVC dustcovers. Assess other rail tracking systems and take action to remove potential risks.
