NHS Estates have been advised of the following problems as a result of routine inspection of fire extinguishers in Hospitals: Maintenance not being carried out in accordance with BS 5306: Part 3, nor by suitably trained personnel; Internally corroded extinguisher bodies remaining in service; Fitting of inappropriate internal CO2 cartridges; Loose discharge horn on carbon dioxide extinguishers. This note describes the action to be taken.
