Reports have been received of faulty oscillating fans. In one incident, a tower fan caught fire while being used in a ward, causing destruction of the fan and smoke damage. All oscillating fans should be inspected routinely by a technically qualified person to ensure there is no internal damage, especially to electrical wiring.
