Ministers, the NHS Executive and the public have had tax avoidance schemes in the NHS brought to their attention over recent weeks. A number of NHS bodies are alleged to have entered into agreements whose primary aim is to avoid the payment of tax. This letter addresses the reasons why these agreements are unacceptable and provides information on how the NHS Executive may respond when such agreements are discovered.
